Community Futures West Interlake has an opening for a LOANS OFFICER. Community Futures West Interlake serves the municipalities of Woodlands, St. Laurent, Coldwell, West Interlake and Grahamdale, located on PTH #6 in Manitoba’s Interlake. CFWI delivers a variety of services including loans, technical and advisory services for small and medium-sized businesses and community economic development support. The Position: Reporting to the General Manager, the Loans Officer attracts, coaches, manages and guides loan and business development clients to success. The Loans Officer is responsible for all aspects of commercial lending, growth of the loan portfolio, collections, business counselling, and assessing feasibility of client business proposals. • Advising clients, providing guidance and information on the development of business plans and related documents. • Attracting business to achieve loan growth objectives. • Reviewing and analyzing loan applications for viability. • Coaching clients, providing aftercare and growth support. • Performing due diligence checks. • Delivering group training sessions on business topics. • Developing and maintaining a network of referral sources. The Qualifications: Personal characteristics: • Strong inter-personal and communications skills • Ability to function well in a small team environment • Ability to take direction and work with a volunteer based organization and lending committee • Results oriented self-starter • Confidence in making decisions and communicating decisions effectively to clients Education and/or Experience: • Business diploma or degree • Commercial lending experience • Business analysis, counseling, coaching and business development/management experience Hours: Regular office hours are 8:30 to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday in Ashern, MB. Limited evening and weekend work is required.Travel is required throughout the region and a valid Class 5 driver’s license is required. CFWI provides a competitive benefits package.
