MB - The Lundar Museum Society Inc. is pleased to announce the ground-breaking
of the Lundar Museum Mall project. The
Lundar Museum Mall project will see the construction of a new 3,200 square foot
museum in the community of Lundar located in the Rural Municipality of
Coldwell, Manitoba. The
Project will include space to exhibit unique cultural components that reflect
the history of Lundar, Manitoba and area while giving a unique facelift to Main
Street’s retail sector. The building will house a space to facilitate exhibit
preparation, a meeting/programming room as well as a gift shop. The school will
be able to utilize the displays and meeting room as educational aids. The
Project will meet current accessibility standards and be constructed for proper
temperature control necessary for the storage and display of artifacts. The
project will maintain an eco-friendly build that will provide staff and patrons
with access to water, bathroom facilities, heat and all
communication capacities (telephone, internet, digital capacities and a website). “The construction of this new and accessible museum in Lundar will
enable the preservation and celebration of the community’s rich and unique
history. This project is a great example of how we can work together to leave a
lasting legacy for our future generations and learn from our local history.” “The
Manitoba government recognizes the role of cultural and recreational facilities
that provide shared experiences, connectedness and healthy, inclusive, vibrant
communities. The Lundar Museum Mall will serve as an important community
resource and gathering place, and we are pleased to have prioritized this
project under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program. We are thrilled,

commitment to infrastructure that will ensure the community of Lundar and its
