The Lundar Community Cupboard was established in the fall of 2023 by two Lundar Women (Irene Danielson and Linda Fortin) who felt the need to help residents who were struggling to buy enough groceries to feed their families due to skyrocketing prices.
The Community Cupboard is not a food bank but rather a resource to top up a few items that may be needed to make their meals stretch.
The Cupboard operates out of the RM office on Main Street inside the Senior Resource Office. We wish to thank the Senior Resource staff for their time and the RM for the space.
Hours of operation are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:30.
All food and Monetary Donations are greatly appreciated. Anyone wishing may receive a tax receipt for their Monetary Donation.
Two of our residents (Rob Einarson and Craig Sooley) wanted to help and have started an Annual Fundraiser during the Christmas Season. Anyone can come view their yard display, take pictures and cross the road to view their neighbors yard.
The Christmas Displays are truly amazing!!!
Anyone can have photos taken with Santa, sit by the firepit and drink complimentary Hot Chocolate and socialize. They only ask for a donation to the (Tin for a Bin) with proceeds given to the Community Cupboard.
New this year is the addition of a freezer. There will be meat/fish available once a month.
Thank you to all our donors and we look forward to continuing for many years to come.
